GTS CE extends technological partnerships with ancotel and vMware
2011-12-30
In a tactical end-of-year move,
GTS Central Europe (GTS CE) have extended working partnerships with
ancotel, a Frankfurt-based telecommunications and collocations provider, and with
vMware, a leading international vendor on the virtualisation market.
In both cases moving to professional partner status was made to allow GTS to better make use of technologies from both companies and to create new hybrid systems.
At the moment, ancotel operates the largest telecommunications and data network node in Europe. By connecting to its Ethernet Virtual Platform located in Frankfurt (similar to an Ethernet exchange), new GTS customers will be able to reach GTS Ethernet network through a single connection. The GTS Ethernet network, links 13,000 base stations in Central and Eastern European countries (namely: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania). Around 100 new locations are added to the network monthly.
Cooperation with VMware allows for the development and implementation of a hybrid cloud system, designed by the companies.
