Komstar–OTS, the subsidiary company of MTS, has applied to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to acquire the internet provider Tenzor Telkom in Yaroslavl. The deal is estimated to be worth $8m.
Tenzor Telkom provides internet access to 22,000 private and 1,100 corporate clients and its revenues in 2009 were approximately RUB 145m ($4.9m). Both companies have signed a preferential agreement valid until the middle of February. Komstar announced its regional expansion prior to the recession, but the Tenzor Telkom deal will be the first one for the company.
