Russian companies lead the IT services market

The Russian IT companies IBS, Krok, Tekhnoserv, Lanit and EPAM Systems were acknowledged as IT-service market leaders in 2009, according to a report published by IDC. The combined market share of the top five companies amounted to about 26% which is slightly less than a year earlier. The top nine IT service vendors remained Russian, with HP as the only foreign company ranked in the top-10 list. The economic crisis has reduced demand for IT services significantly. The Russian IT services market is forecast to revive in 2010 through long-term projects in the government, banking, and oil and gas sectors.
