WS Trends, a Czech software provider, has put out its Smart Grid Management (SGM) solution, a program allowing for an automatic evaluation and monitoring of energy, water, gas and other media consumption.
The SGM software works on the InterSystems Ensemble platform, designed by the software company InterSystems. It can be run on any web browser and is compatible with most operating systems and hardware platforms. SGM program´s built-in communication network can be connected to any type of and to an unlimited number of smart sensors with two-way communications capabilities enabling real time measurements.
The global market of smart metering is picking up pace. According to Pike Research, a market intelligence company, software and services enabling the smart grid data analytics will increase from a relatively small market value of $356m (€258m) in 2010 to annual revenues of nearly $4.2bn (€3bn) by 2015. Research and Market forecasts that the penetration rate of smart grid services will reach 52% by 2016.
