Orange Romania saw €219.7m revenue in Q1 2012

Orange Romania, the biggest mobile telephony provider in the country in terms of subscribers, reported €219.7m in sales revenue in Q1 2012, 1.03% less than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Sales of 3G internet grew by 17.6% year on year to €36.1m in Q1 2012 partially compensated the contraction of the demand for voice services.

The number of operator’s subscribers declined from almost 10.3 million in March 2011 to 10.1 million at the end of the first quarter of this year.

On a year-on-year basis, in Q1 2012, Orange tripled the sales of tablet PCs offered in its branded stores in Romania and sold 44% more smartphones.
